All dead in Malaysian plane crash over Ukraine

TEHRAN, July 18 (MNA) – A Malaysian passenger plane on its route from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur has crashed in Eastern Ukraine near Russian border.

All 288 passengers and 7 crew aboard died in the incident. Malaysian officials claim Flight MH17 has been shot down by a ground to air missile. Media report that the US sources have also stated the radars confirm the claim.

Ukrainian government and pro-Russian opposition in eastern Ukraine where the plane was downed exchange accusations of targeting the plane. Russian UN envoy Vitaly Churkin has rejected Russia had anything to do with the crash.

Meanwhile, the United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has called for "a full and transparent international investigation" into the incident.

"I am closely monitoring the reports, along with the International Civil Aviation Organization, a United Nations agency. There is clearly a need for a full and transparent international investigation," Ban said.
